GreenThumb NutraGreen Autumn/Winter Long

Stronger and greener grass to cope with the winter

What

  • This is a liquid spray
  • Micronutrient feed to strengthen grass

When

  • October - December

Why

  • Strengthens grass for Winter
  • Dehydrates moss

Lawns usually have their highest use over the summer. Not only are they exposed to some challenging weather conditions, but they are also used and enjoyed. That’s why, our NutraGreen ‘Autumn/Winter Long’ includes a micronutrient feed, which allows your lawn to recover while giving the lawn a long-lasting green colour, toughing the grass for the winter weather ahead. This treatment strengthens the grass whilst dehydrating any moss that is present in your lawn, turning it black, slowing down its growth and spread and assists in managing it in the lawn..

Our Autumn/Winter lawn treatment also helps lawns cope with the rigours of Aeration and Scarification,  both of these are an effective way of reducing surface and below the surface thatch.

Thatch is the name given to an accumulation of dead grass, decomposed grass roots, leaves mixed with some living stems and, in extreme cases, living grass roots. Thatch naturally forms in a lawn, it becomes a problem when it grows thicker, then it decays. It is the main causes of moss on lawns. There are two types of lawn thatch; surface and sub-surface thatch, Aeration helps reduce sub surface thatch and Scarification helps surface thatch.

Autumn is a good time of the year to have Aeration and Scarification carried out on your lawn. If it’s not included in your treatment programme, why not add it on or join our Standard or Ultimate programmes where it is included.

All your treatments throughout the year will have contributed greatly to a long-lasting, beautiful lawn, even throughout Winter. We look forward to continuing this journey with you and making your lawn the centrepiece of your garden.

  • Aeration

Thatch, thatch and more thatch. The main cause of moss on British lawns is sub-surface thatch. This mechanical operation reduces it and allows oxygen, water and other important nutrients to get to the grass roots.

  • Scarification

Moss lives on thatch found on the surface of a lawn too. This mechanical operation thins it out. This is not lawn raking but a professional surface thatch reduction using a specialist reel.
