About the role:
The Ops Manager plays a key role in the delivery of the lawn operative service to our customers. Their core role is to manage the Lawn Operative’s day to day activities and to enthuse the team with a determination to provide the best service as representatives of the brand. The Ops Manager will have regular contact with Head Office in the performance of their duties.
As the Lawn Operatives are perceived as ambassadors of the GreenThumb brand from a customer’s perspective, the Ops Manager holds a key role in ensuring the Lawn Operatives provide the best treatment service to our customers.

Main duties:

  • Manage, develop, motivate and support the team of Lawn Operatives
  • Responsible for day to day operations of the branch
  • Ensure compliance by the Lawn Operatives with GreenThumb’s Method, Service Level Agreement, Employee Handbook, Lawn Operative Minimum Expectations and Health and Safety procedures (seeking regular support from Head Office)
  • Actively promote, coach and mentor team members on best practice
  • Liaises with Head Office, GTA and HR, on the recruitment, interviews and training of Lawn Operatives
  • Ensure daily crew runs are printed and distributed to Lawn Operatives
  • Support and line manage Lawn Operatives achievement of daily and weekly treatment values and regularly liaises with the Scheduling team
  • Manage and drive continuous improvement of product knowledge and knowledge of weeds, disorders and diseases within the team
  • Excellent time management, display and encourage responsiveness and coach others
  • Be an ambassador & coach others on raising awareness of the GreenThumb Brand
  • Ensure vehicles, equipment and machinery are clean, serviced and maintained
  • Ensure the Lawn Operatives demonstrate a professional image at all times
  • Manage Lawn Operatives with ordering uniform, PPE and equipment
  • Responsibility for improving the customer service rating of the branch
  • Responsible for customer retention through excellent service delivery
  • Responsible for positively resolving, queries, complaints and service calls
  • Hold regular team meetings, one to one’s, reviews, appraisals and tool box talks with the Lawn Operatives
  • Identify any training needs of the team and arrange or deliver appropriate training
  • Collect and reconcile cheques and cash payments received from customers
  • Responsible for overseeing NSK duties and replenishment of consumables in the branch
  • Monitor and produce regular reports for the line manager on individual and branch performance
  • Ensure crew runs are accurately reconciled on a daily basis
  • Ensure customer payments are accurately collected, reconciled and handed to line manager on a regular basis
  • Operate within the agreed branch/hub budget
  • Promote good teamwork through help, support and encouragement and set the example for raising standards
  • Reporting the absence and staff issues of any Lawn Operatives to Head Office
  • Meets with line manager including at Head Office for regular reviews, support and development
  • Contribute to GreenThumb life and people e.g. positive influences, seek continuous improvement and manage and promote change
  • Regularly report to Head Office and line manager as and when matters arise
  • Carry out any other duties that may be considered relevant to the position within the terms of your contract of employment
