RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show: 2nd – 8th July
This summer we had the pleasure of attending the ever-fabulous RHS Flower Show; which was held in the grounds of the magnificent Tudor-era, Hampton Court Palace.
The gardens at Hampton Court Palace have an impressive 500-year history and have evolved in their design with each passing era under royal gardeners; from Tudor times to the Victorian period. The palace itself was originally begun by Cardinal Wolsey in the early 1500s and later Henry VIII, who’s attention its grandeur certainly attracted - brought all his six wives to live there. It’s surrounded by stunning gardens, an impressive maze and has been host to many important national events throughout England’s history.
During our time at the show held in the palace grounds, we saw many absolutely wonderful show gardens and a gorgeous array of flower displays. As we attended during the extended heatwave of this summer, being surrounded by so many brightly coloured plants and underneath a beautiful blue sky - it felt like summer indeed!
We had many visitors to the stand to speak about our treatments, lawncare advice and it was lovely that many of our customers came to see us and say thank you for looking after their lawns and the “great service” they’ve received. We had computers made available for attendees to measure their own lawns online for a quote estimate – which we also used to watch the England vs Croatia World Cup match!
Our Lawn Makeover (The GreenThumb pièce de résistance) feature, was especially popular – showcasing a lawn grown from our bespoke “Diamond Green” grass seed.
As always, our GreenThumb gardening kneel-pads we were giving away to visitors, were high in demand!
The show had a lively and bright atmosphere, we particularly enjoyed the live music that was performed each day. There were also many celebrity visitors and press on the Monday of the show. A highlight for us definitely has to be the amazing fireworks display that took place to conclude the show in the evening. An altogether great event!
