Should I try the service even though I think my lawn is beyond saving?
Definitely. Homeowners are constantly amazed to see what they thought was a lawn beyond saving transformed into a beautiful lawn.
When is the best time to start the service?
There is never a bad time to start creating a beautiful lawn. You can adopt the service at any time.
When will I notice the difference?
Within a couple of weeks the lawn will look considerably improved.
Is it safe for my children or pets?
Yes it is. We do ask that you keep off the lawn until the weedkiller has dried (usually less than 1 hour). This is to prevent you walking the weedkiller off the weeds. Think about this…by using our service you will no longer have half full bottles of concentrated lawn weedkiller in your garden shed.
How do I decide which of the treatment programmes works best for me?
Our 3 new treatment programmes will ensure that we continue to give you the best service and lawn care products available. For your convenience we have also introduced a direct debit payment option, making it easier for you to spread your lawn care costs over the year. For more information, please speak to your local branch.
Does it really cost less than doing it myself?
Treatment costs can vary depending on the size of the lawn, starting from just £15 per application including all materials, labour and VAT etc. On a direct debit programme, prices start at just £5 per month for our Traditional Service.
When will the new treatment programmes be available in my area?
We hope to be able to offer our new programmes and direct debit option across the majority of our branches during 2011. Please speak to your local branch to register your interest and they will then write to let you know when it is available.
What if I already have a Gardener?
Hundreds of GreenThumb customers already have a gardener and we are not a gardening company, nor will we carry out any of the other work your gardener does. If required, we would be happy to discuss the work we intend to carry out with your gardener.
Are the feeds GreenThumb applies better than the proprietary brands I can get from a Garden Centre or wholesaler?
The best proprietary lawn feeds last between 3 - 6 weeks, depending on your soil type. GreenThumb's professional feeds last around 10 weeks.
The actual amount of lawn food GreenThumb feeds your lawn is usually more than double that of proprietary brands, and is applied safely and professionally.
Do I have to be in when GreenThumb calls?
The majority of our customers are not at home when we call to treat the lawn. Since all our vehicles and operatives are self sufficient we can carry out the treatment as long as we have access to the lawns. If you want to be in when we call at your home to treat the lawn, we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Will you be able to give advice on lawn mowers and mowing?
A beautiful lawn involves more than applying a feed and weed every couple of months. Mowing practices, advice on watering and numerous other factors contribute to a beautiful lawn. We would be delighted to give you as much information as you would like.

Do I have to water the lawn following the treatment?
No you don’t. However, like any other plant, the lawn does like and need water. It will show its gratitude if you water it by turning green. During a dry spell, give the lawn a drink one evening.
Is GreenThumb licensed to treat lawns?
Our lawn operatives are National Proficiency Training Council (NPTC) licensed to apply lawn weed killers.
Will the treatments address moss?
Our treatments, treatment programmes and lawn enhancements are specifically geared to addressing moss problems on lawns.
Do I have to sign a contract?
We want our customers to continue with the GreenThumb service based on our merits in creating a healthier, greener lawn for them, not because they are stuck in a contract. Of course, with our new treatment programmes, you will need to sign a direct debit mandate with the relevant terms and conditions that relate to that.
