In 1996, having successfully grown the business for 10 years, Stephen Waring (founder of GreenThumb) was encouraged to develop the business through franchising, enabling others to grow their own successful lawn treatment business. They would enjoy confidence in the knowledge that the franchisor had many years of successful growth through various economic fluctuations and climatic conditions, including a recession and a drought!

GreenThumb has established a proven record of successful and ethical franchising since 1997 with no commercial failures to date. All of our franchisees enjoy the benefits that come from operating a successful and lucrative franchise business, and we would be content to introduce you to all of them to find out for yourself.

GreenThumb is not complacent about its dominant presence in the industry and has developed improvements in the market. It was GreenThumb who pioneered the "No Scorch Technology" fertilisers. Today, there are a few newcomers to the lawn care industry, some even offering lawn treatment franchises. Although we are not complacent about our competitors, our experience demonstrates that if we provide high customer service, we maintain high customer loyalty and continue to dominate any territory where we experience so called ‘copy cat’ services.
